Halloween Pancake Special~

Matt and I made Layered Pancakes with syrup and Boysenberry ice-cream This morning. For newbies at making pancakes we actually did a pretty good job (and they were extra fluffy!) We actually stayed in the whole morning eating pancakes and watching How I Met your Mother... but anyway, here's the recipe so go try it out!

You will need:

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 1/4 cups milk
1 egg
3 tablespoons melted butter
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla essence/extract

Like any recipe, mix the wet ingredients and dry ingredients separately then gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients bowl and mix until you reach perfect consistency. Sift together the flour (preferably twice), baking powder, salt and sugar in a large bowl. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg, vanilla and melted butter mixture and mix until smooth.
Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle or pan, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.

Bon appétit !~

Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School: GORE

Matt and I went out Thursday night to a monthly drawing class called Dr.Sketchy's. We attended the Gore theme which was rather awesome to witness (and draw). There were also competitions for the best picture after each session. I won a $20 voucher at Burrito Bothers and a pair of chocolate eyeballs (Weird but yummy!) the chocolate eyes are actually part of a fund-raiser to help the maker's best friend be the first woman to sky dive from space. The Gore set up revolved around two Burlesque dancers dressed up as dead girls performing kinky acts with fake blood. We also had the local Skindependent guys come in for a suspension act which we had to draw! Not to mention the music was good and artists there were incredibly friendly! It was definitely a memorable experience and we'll be sure to do it again~

Horse riding in Hamner

We had a long weekend due to today (Monday) being Labour day. So Matt and I went to Hamner on Sunday to go sight seeing and a casual ride in the hills. We saw a lot of beautiful greenery filled with sheep and their newly born lambs, they were so friendly and cute we were almost tempted to take them home!

we also found a horse in the stables with blue eyes.

The Korean Festival! ♥~

Matt and I attended the Korean festival today, and being big fans of Korean cuisine it shouldn't surprise anyone really. There was quite a big turnout with lots of yummy food and treats for sale. The Prime minister was there, as well as the Mayor and his kinky leather-clad wife (tee hee). Everything was going great until we saw the pouting White Pride guys waving the New Zealand flag and handing out their flyers of hate. We were amused to see the cops keeping a close eye on their douche-bagery... We went to our all time favourite Korean restaurant afterwards and had some Ice-cream before catching the bus. All in all we had a great day! Not to mention the weather was fantastic. I hope it stays like this for the rest of the weekend. ♥~

And look how cute this little guy is!~

Bubblecup, we love you!

One of our favourite things to do when waiting for a bus ride to my house on Saturdays is chilling out and getting Bubblecup. We love it so much we sometimes get one when I visit Matt before I go to class. We both adore the chocolate flavour but we are opposed in our bubble preference. Matt loves the Bubbles which are tapioca balls soaked in grape juice, while I love the pineapple flavoured jelly blocks (or stars) - he hates them! I'm glad there's something we're divided about hehe. But seriously, if you have a Bubblecup near you - try it out! (Particularly the chocolate flavour...)

I went out yesterday with the VCNZ people, we handed out flyers and stuck up some posters. We also went to BurgerKing and got stuck in the arcade most of the time playing DDR and getting Pirikuras done. Matt saw me in the arcade on the way to his bus so he stopped by to give me some love. Aww! ♥~

New contacts!

I received my Cosy Pearl Grey lenses in the post today yay! They were kind of  hard to put on at first and it felt like a giant eyelash was stuck in my eye, but after a few minutes they settled in nicely. They look just as amazing as I had imagined! The colours blend in well with the hazel colouration of my eyes; I've been wearing them for maybe 2 hours now and I have completely forgotten about them. Quite obviously the best 22 Dollars I've spent in a long while. ♥~

Shadow Rising - selfless promotion :D

I managed to hijack the blog login from Tamryn, so I'm going to run a little wild before she wrestles it back from me :D Okay, she gave it to me anyway, but how boring would it be for me just to say that, right?

So here's a little about what I do, which is basically spend all day as an artist for a gaming company up here in Christchurch. Obligatory: Its really awesome....because, well, it is. Doesn't mean we don't all work hard here and put in literally our bloodied sweat into what we love though. I'll spare the interesting details to compile another future blog with it in the future, but for now I want to do a little show and tell on something us here at CerebralFix put out recently, and which will be playable very soon, just keep watching this space:

Pretty much our entry into the Awesome Hack & Slash Sidescrolling RPG Made In Flash category :D I hope you all enjoy - and if you enjoy, I hope you play it when its out!

VCNZ Meet up! October 15th

I met up with the guys from a New Zealand Visual Community, which is basically a group of individuals who appreciate eccentric styles of dressing and cosplay. We took some Pirikuras, ate out at Osaka's and had a mini-photoshoot in the City centre. I was bummed I couldn't stay for too long but it was awesome none the less. Matt was at work playing HON or something, as he does. ♥~

The Post-Photoshoot! ♥~

I got some of my photoshoot photos from Eden today. I absolutely love them! You can see them on her deviantART account here!

Thanks to Matt for being awesome and sponsoring us drinks in the sweltering heat. ♥~

That dog-type thing. [WIP]

So I worked a bit on my dog monster today. It's actually called a "Grave Hound". But there's a high probability that no one actually cares. I took some snaps of how far I got with it today, there's still quite a lot of work to do on the head and some small refinements on the body. I'm going to work some more on it tomorrow in class... I don't know what Matt is up to. He mentioned something about paint fumes, drawing and "I spent today doing graphic designery things u___u zzz"... tee hee.

Can you believe it?

I took a snap of a very rare occurrence: Matt actually drawing for himself! I was really stoked to see him scribbling away at my sketch pad. I know he misses drawing just as much as I do! I can't wait for my course to be over with, but now it's the intensive part of the year so I have to buckle down and keep personal work on the back burner for now. I have been working on a sculpture for class of a dog type creature I designed that looks kind of like something from Silent Hill. But I must admit it feels amazing to sculpt. I even "borrowed" some clay from class and made a quick figurine, which also kinda looks like something from Silent Hill... She's an amputee... I ran out of clay ok.

Cosplay Photoshoot with Eden ♥ 17th October

I was asked to do a photoshoot with a fellow group member from a community I recently joined. So I dressed as Link from Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. She wasn't familiar with the character but we had a lot of fun regardless. I took a few snaps of her in her outfit in the park as well. It was just so beautiful with all the blossoms and flowers. Matt tagged along and had a great time too! We also suffered from major camera envy, her camera just took such beautiful pictures with gorgeous colours and depth of field. This reminds me, I need a job...

I will post some of the pictures from the shoot as soon as I get the photos from the ever so amazing Eden. ♥~

Matt's Birthday Weekend 3rd October

We had a big celebration with Matt's mates on Saturday, we went out for Chinese and sung our lungs out at Karaoke. We also had a lot of Yoghurt Soju (Mine and Matt's alcoholic beverage of choice) We made our way home at around 3-ish; but on the way to catch a taxi some guy was following us and tried to rob Matt, it was kind of funny because the robber made it so obvious that we eventually told him to get lost. We made it home safely and got a good sleep. The next day I took Matt out to some lunch and a Chocolate Fondue at this really nice Chocolate restaurant. We also saw some of these gorgeous cupcakes for sale, so I just had to take a few pictures...

Spring! September 25th

Some pics of our first venture out into Spring to celebrate the blooming of the daffodils. It was fun sitting amongst all the pretty flowers. We couldn't resist spending the whole day at the park, it was just perfect! ♥~
